For over six months Cobalt Blue has actively recruited a pharmaceutical manufacturing company to relocate its business to northwest Florida.

Drug maker considering Crestview plant

“Project Pill” will result in the imminent creation of 130 new, full-time, high-wage jobs. These jobs result in $6,814,100 of combined annual wages (150% of the Average Okaloosa County Wage) resulting in a net economic output of over $18 million per year. The prospect of a near-term expansion will create 170 additional jobs which grows the project’s economic output to over $42 million per year for the life of the project. Construction of the project will create 77 jobs and generate $26 million per year of economic output.

From authoring analysis for the proposed venture’s economic output, to arranging the State of Florida’s incentive package, arranging capital financing, to negotiating terms of the deal, Cobalt Blue handled every aspect of the client’s decision-making process.

While assisting a client with a project that will culminate in the construction of a state-of-the-art 45,000 sq-ft FDA-approved pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, Cobalt Blue saw an opportunity to create a new synergy and a new industry in northwest Florida through a public private partnership between industry and higher education. So, we reached out to the senior leadership at Florida A&M College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and a new, dynamic relationship was born.

Our client has a one-of-a-kind “shovel-ready” private-sector project that will deliver more than 600 full-time, high-wage jobs to the northwest Florida region. Unfortunately the capital markets dried up before the project could come to fruition.

Passionate about a worthy challenge Cobalt Blue drafted and is working to advance national legislation that is envisioned to jump-start the worldwide economy through a national tax-exempt bond that will be issued for private-sector-only projects.
